About Me.
Welcome to Explorable You! I’m Lori Nelson, a teacher and fellow explorer.
I've been in the education field for thirty-one years. I've taught middle-school Math and I.B. Design. I've been a K–8 Certified Teacher Librarian, and I've taught Adult Education in the area of GED Prep for eleven years. My Master's is in Library Science, and my teaching certification is in 6–12 Math, ELA, Psychology, and Library Science. I'm also certified in Adult Education, and I volunteer as an English teacher and teacher trainer each summer in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico.
Age 65 blew by, and I'm happily still teaching. I am a teacher, and honored to be one.
I named this site “Explorable You,” because at one point in my life, I chose to continue living in the world as an explorer rather than the alternative. I navigated the first 65 years of my life with undiagnosed autism, and received the immeasurable gift of diagnosis the September before my 65th birthday.
My mission is to spend my next 10 years or so helping people achieve their GED educational goals. I don’t know exactly what that will look like, but I’m excited to move forward. Exploration is my vision and my goal.
So…what would you like to explore? If it includes education, let’s talk!
